But we hae meat and we can eat...
A continental and full cooked breakfast is included for all guests in all tariffs. Our continental breakfast includes home baked bread, poached seasonal fruit, Tasmanian leatherwood honey, yoghurt, a range of cereals, Kate's Berry Farm jam and homemade marmalade, nutmeg muffins, fresh berries in summer and other treats to suit the season. Our Christmas Cranachan is a special treat.
Our full cooked breakfast options include scrambled or poached eggs with Mures smoked salmon; a full English breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and beans; or our pancakes with bacon and maple syrup or seasonal fruit and syrup. We use real Canadian maple syrup, our bacon and sausages are from Sir Loin Breier, award winning butcher in Bicheno, our eggs are from happily free range chickens and our veggies are home grown or Tasmania's best in season.
During the winter months, you can arrange a curry feast prior to your stay. Cameron makes amazing regional Indian curries, and Jodie helps out with dal, raita, chutney, Naan and desserts. We do not serve meals from the freezer. Each menu is planned for you and raw ingredients ordered with your booking, so we require 3 business days notice for meals.
If that all seems like too much trouble or you're looking for an a la carte menu, we are happy to recommend any one of our local restaurants and eateries. There are plenty of excellent dining options in Swansea.
We offer meals because we are passionate about producing meals, and put days worth of preparation into it using the best local produce we can find. We offer meals to round out your memorable stay, and as a special experience, which we hope you'll enjoy.
Picnic Hampers are available and need to be ordered the afternoon before they are needed. Typically they include our sourdough bread, homemade chutney or relish, local cheese, paprika roasted chicken, chickpea and lentil salad, fresh fruit or dessert, and water or a bottle of picnic friendly, low alcohol Moscato. We can pack them in a daypack for walking, or a basket for lounging on the beach, and will include a picnic rug and even beach towels if you need them.
Cheese platters featuring Tasmanian cheese and local, home grown and home made extras are available year round for a grazing snack, light meal or before/after dinner treat by the fire. With or without wine or beer from our list, or bring your own and ask for glasses.
Allergies and Dietary Preferences
We always have gluten free bread and cereals on hand for breakfast, and also keep a variety of non dairy 'milk' products, but do let us know in advance if you need anything specific. Our curry feasts are easily made vegetarian - even vegan - if required.
Please advise of food allergies at the time of making your booking, or at least on arrival, so that we can be absolutely certain you will not be exposed. Vegetarians with allergies to vegetables particularly - please let us know ahead of your stay so that we can order alternative veg from our supplier!
We are a registered food business, and take food safety and safe food delivery very seriously. But, we're also a small business and prefer to source food fresh from our trusted suppliers, so we do appreciate advance notice of any special food requirements.
We stock a small selection of wines from our nearest cellar doors (coincidentally some of our favourite Tassie wines!). We also stock a few wines from boutique wineries from around Australia, and particularly from 'home' in South Australia. That's also why we stock Coopers. That, and it's just the best beer. We also have Tassie beer and Guinness.
We're all about wine and beer that you want to eat with, and which matches our food. Unpretentious, bring me more, good food and wine, made with care and time. As with everything, we aim to localise more and more with time, but we'll always have Coopers. And Guinness. Just because.
